Despite all of the traditions,
doctrines, creeds, articles of faith, theories and statement of beliefs
of the many different religious denominations today, it is the position
of this Bible student/teacher that the KJV is the Word of God
… AND that God does protect AND preserve His Word
… AND that the light has NOT gone out, nor has God been left
without a Witness. That said, let me quickly point out that there is a
very real and present danger in some of the "newer" versions and
translations of the Bible. Furthermore, the King James Version of the
Holy Bible has been under attack for many years, and is even being
discredited by those who represent themselves as being very well
schooled, trained and even scholarly when it comes to the Word of God.
I’ve touched on this in a previous study, and plan to do some
more plowing in that field again real soon. But, in this study, I plan
to explore and dispel some of the myths and outright lies being
perpetrated today against the King James Version … and those
of us who stand by it as being God’s Word. By the way, those
of us who stand upon the Word of God need to understand something
vitally important: The battle is NOT ours. All God really asks us to do
is to study His Word, believe His Word, trust Him, stand in the gap
that maketh up the hedge, move as led by His Spirit OR stand still and
see the salvation of the Lord. And, when you think about it, none of
that is rocket science. Nor is the Word of God so complicated that a
person has to specially trained and/or have a degree behind their name
to understand it or to be able to preach, or teach it, to others. So, I
hope that dispels a very big myth. Any how, let’s look into
the King James Version for the answers to the Three Important
Questions. OR, if it is an ordinary (flawed) book … a
collection of writings of different people which was written and
complied over a very long period of time.
Mark
1:1-22 The beginning of the
gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the
prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall
prepare thy way before thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. John did
baptize in the wilderness, and preach
the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of
Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan,
confessing their sins. And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with
a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild
honey; And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me,
the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I
indeed have baptized you with water: but he
shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of
Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up
out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove
descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou
art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And immediately the
spirit driveth him into the wilderness. And he was there in the
wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts;
and the angels ministered unto him. Now after that John was put in
prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of
God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at
hand: repent
ye, and believe the gospel.
Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his
brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And Jesus
said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers
of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. And
when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of
Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their
nets. And straightway he called them: and they left their father
Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him. And
they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered
into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his
doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the
scribes.
Matthew
24:32-39 Now learn a parable of
the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves,
ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all
these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say
unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be
fulfilled. Heaven
and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven,
but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the
coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the
flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,
until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the
flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son
of man be.

Peter 1:1-21 Simon Peter, a
servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like
precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour
Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the
knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power
hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that
by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the
corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving
all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And
to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience
godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly
kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make
you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of
our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and
cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old
sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your
calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never
fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into
the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Wherefore
I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these
things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you
up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off
this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have
these things always in remembrance. For we have not followed cunningly
devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses
of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory,
when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is
my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came
from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have
also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take
heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn,
and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing
this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private
interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of
man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Timothy 3:1-17 This know also,
that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be
lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,
disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection,
trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those
that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more
than lovers of God; Having
a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:
from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses,
and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers
lusts, Ever
learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the
truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they
shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all
men, as their's also was. But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner
of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium,
at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord
delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall
suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and
worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things
which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou
hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy
scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through
faith which is in Christ Jesus. All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished
unto all good works.
John
7:37-53 In the last day, that
great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man
thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as
the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him
should
receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was
not yet glorified.) Many of the people therefore, when they heard this
saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. Others said, This is the
Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? Hath not the
scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the
town of Bethlehem, where David was? So there was a division among the
people because of him. And some of them would have taken him; but no
man laid hands on him. Then came the officers to the chief priests and
Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? The
officers answered, Never
man spake like this man.
Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? Have any of the
rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? But this people who knoweth
not the law are cursed. Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to
Jesus by night, being one of them,) Doth our law judge any man, before
it hear him, and know what he doeth? They answered and said unto him,
Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth
no prophet. And every man went unto his own house.
Luke
24:44-53 And he said unto them,
These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you,
that all
things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and
in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the
scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it
behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And
that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name
among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye
are witnesses
of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you:
but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power
from on high. And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted
up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed
them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. And they
worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: And were
continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
Acts
1:1-26 The former treatise have
I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy
Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To
whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible
proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things
pertaining to the kingdom of God: And, being assembled together with
them, commanded
them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the
promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John
truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost
not many days hence. When they therefore were come together, they asked
of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom
to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times
or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye
shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye
shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken
up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked
stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them
in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye
gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into
heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into
heaven. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet,
which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. And when they were
come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and
James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and
Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the
brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and
supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with
his brethren. And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the
disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an
hundred and twenty,) Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have
been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before
concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was
numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man
purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he
burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. And it was
known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is
called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of
blood. For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be
desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another
take. Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time
that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, Beginning from the
baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must
one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. And they
appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and
Matthias. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the
hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, That he
may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by
transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave
forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered
with the eleven apostles.
Acts
14:1-28 And it came to pass in
Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews,
and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the
Greeks believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and
made their minds evil affected against the brethren. Long time
therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony
unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by
their hands. But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held
with the Jews, and part with the apostles. And when there was an
assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their
rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them, They were ware of
it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the
region that lieth round about: And there they preached the gospel. And
there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a
cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: The same heard
Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had
faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet.
And he leaped and walked. And when the people saw what Paul had done,
they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods
are come down to us in the likeness of men. And they called Barnabas,
Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. Then
the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and
garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their
clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, And saying, Sirs, why
do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and
preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living
God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are
therein: Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own
ways. Nevertheless
he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us
rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food
and gladness.
And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had
not done sacrifice unto them. And there came thither certain Jews from
Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul,
drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the
disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city:
and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. And when they had
preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned
again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of
the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we
must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. And when
they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with
fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed. And
after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia. And
when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to
the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled. And when they were
come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God
had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the
Gentiles. And there they abode long time with the disciples.
