Missionary News!Barcelonian Commentary / Children's Ministry Records Broken During Madrid Conference / MEXICO Focus On Papua New Guinea / ARGENTINA / News From Nigeria Focal Points / KENYA / BRAZIL Continued Victory In Lesotho / EUROPE-Middle East Region . We read in Micah 7:7 "Therefore I will Look unto the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will bear me." Looking back over the past few months, counting even the entire year of 2000, we must say that the Lord has heard our cries and answered our prayers. Year 2000 has been the best year to date the work of Spain. The combined team effort, work, and many prayers by superintendent William Markham, Missionary Gary Sones family, plus the Howard Smith family have seen the working of the Holy Ghost this past year. Our commencing service on October 8th was blessed with the present of Missionary Field Superintendent William Markham. Since then we have had other guest speakers, which have proved to be a tremendous blessing to our church. Aim worker Brian Stokes from Alexandria, LA blessed us on the weekend of November 12th. During this service two young ladies received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Thank you Brother Brian for not only being a blessing to us, but to the church in Madrid where you attend and serve. The 19th of November, we were blessed with the ministry of former Missionary Johnny Grissom, his wife, and daughter Cheri. Cheri and our daughter Khrista blessed the congregation with their first puppet show presentation along with the Good Word of the Lord by Brother Grissom. One young boy received the Holy Ghost during this service, for this we are truly thankful. Records Broken During Madrid Conference: December 8, 9, and 10th will go down in history as a record breaker in the year 2000. Missionary Evangelist Brother & Sister Monte Showalter with their daughter Layna thrilled the congregation with their singing and preaching. A record attendance of 307 was recorded during the conference along with twenty (20) souls being filled with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. The 15 who received the Holy Ghost in our pre-conference service making a total of 35 who received God's gift to man. A special thanks is extended to our Regional Director, Missionary Robert Rodenbush for the outstanding message preached during the Sunday noon service. After Brother Rodenbush's message a special offering was received to help in one of our Home Mission endeavors. Thank you Brother & Sister Showalter and Brother Rodenbush for making this conference a tremendous success.
Dear Partners in Missions, Praise the Lord from south of the border down Mexico way. Thanks for your prayers for us and for your burden to help us reach the lost here in Mexico. We just completed a wonderful revival in which we saw four souls gloriously filled with the Holy Ghost and delivered from sin and darkness. It was just wonderful to see these adults raise their hands to Jesus, repent of their sins and start speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance. All four of these have been baptized in the name of Jesus. We are praising God for these precious souls. We have services on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights in different places and God is opening up more doors for us to minister and preach His word. We start putting the roof on our church in Bachomobampo soon and we want to thank Pastor Paul Conner and his church Faith Tabernacle in Tucson, Arizona for making it possible for this group to have a place to worship. The $2,000 this church gave made the difference, thanks to Brother Conner. Also many thanks to all of our precious faithful partners in Missions that make it possible for us to work here in Mexico as Missionaries. We now have almost 30,000 souls filled with the Holy Ghost in Mexico and we want to thank God for the results that He has given us. Join us in prayer that we will continue to see many souls added to the church here and that many hearts will be touched and healed by the mighty power of God. We are praying for you that Jesus will send great revival to your city so we can reach the world with the great message of Pentecost. Your Missionaries to Sinaloa, Mexico, Brother & Sister Tony L. Smith.
Sister Burns was recently priviledged tp minister in Papua New Guinea along with her sister, Ruth Rieder, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. They teamed up tp minister in the National ladies' Conference held in the cities of Port Moresby and Goroka. Papua New Guinea is the world's 4th largest Island and is located about 200 miles north of Australia. Our wonderful missionaries to PNG, Brian and Esther Henry, did a wonderful job of organizing and hosting these conferences. Over a period of 7 days, sister Burns and sister Rieder ministered to more than 1200 Ladies in two different areas of that tropical island nation. The over-riding theme was "The Positive Power Of Holiness." The New Guinean Ladies enthusiastically responded to the "Word" as it went forth and 30 were filled with the Holy Spirit! Our thanks to the Henry's for hosting us so graciously and to the Lord for "meeting" us there!

Santiago del Estero. 25 Received the Holy Ghost. National Youth Conference. Thank you Brother Mendoza for coming and sharing your ministry with our young people. It was explosive! Dear Partners in Missions: The first quarter of 2000 has been filled with a flurry of activity and a mighty move of God. Most notably, during a visit by Brother David Bernard and Brother Lincoln Graham, 153 Trinitarian pastors were baptized in Jesus' Name. At least 50 of these pastors have expressed an interest in affiliating their works with the United Pentecostal Church of Nigeria. Two Bible schools represented by those baptized are also interested in linking hands with the UPCN! After a lengthy deputation, Missionary John and Corrine Nickerson finally arrived in Nigeria in February to "spy" out the land. We were so blessed to have them with us. They returned to the states in April to prepare for their move to Lagos sometime in June. Land was purchased for the Bible school in March. It is a great victory for the UPCN and building is scheduled to begin in late May or early June. When the Bible school complex is completed it will have four buildings including a 1,000 seat sanctuary. We returned home in April for the wedding of our son, Brian, to Laura Martinez. The wedding took place in Pasadena, Texas with Brother Arlys Glass officiating and Brother Frank Tamel from Oak Creek, Wisconsin, assisting. It was a beautiful wedding and we were so blessed to be able to come home and share in the celebration. The only sad part about our quick visit home is that we had to leave our daughter heather behind. She will be working this summer and completing her senior year of high school at parkway Christian Academy. How we will miss her. And she was such vital part of the work here. Once again, we want to express our profound appreciation for the support of our Partners in Mission. You lift such a heavy burden for us. A big "thank you" is also in order for our Pentecostal ladies and their faithful support of the Bible school. We couldn't operate without your help! We are greatful for our Pentecostal youth and the SFC vehicle they purchased for us. Recently, we went into a village where there was no road. Our car would have never made it but the SFC 4 wheel drive truck made its own road. Five were filled with the Holy Ghost in that service! Thanks to all! Yours for souls in Nigeria, Gerry and Darla McLean.
In Belize, Missionaries Jerry and Brenda Sawyer are worshipping along with a Catholic priest from the village of San Marcos who was just baptized in the name of Jesus! In Liberia, Pentecostal Conquerors worship by marching through the streets of Bomi Hills during their annual conference. 42 souls were filled with the Holy Ghost! In Kazakhstan, Missionary Brian Willams wrote in his recent newsletter, "We rejoice in then Lord for what He is doing in this city." The worship goes up and the "walls are being brought down as God moves and works. Five more students were baptized in Jesus' name. Three of the five baptized come from islamic background." In Argentina, Two young girls with clown faces worship as God moves in a mighty way durring a Children's Crusade. Sister Crossley reported, "173 children received the Holy Ghost! When they received the Holy Ghost, the teachers and altar workers pinned a flame of fire on their cloths." God put a flame of fire in their souls! Also, 532 adults received the Holy Ghost durring the Follow The Fire Crusade! In Panama, Worshipers gathered at a revival in a ladies prison ministry where 150 were in attendance. 55 were baptized in Jesus' name and 30 received the Holy Ghost! In Malawi, After special revival services throughout the country, 56 churches reported the following: 64 baptized, 256 Holy Ghost filled, 2 healed of tetanus, 4 healed of malaria, 1 healed of back pain and 16 other healings! Praise God!
The Africa team for kenya was introduced in Febuary at the Ministers Confrence. Six teams have come to help with four regional conferences and two crusades under the leadership of Rev. Billy E. Hale of Denver, Colorodo. It is estimated that over 400 received the Holy Ghost in these meetings. A leadership workshop, a prayer and Bible conference, and the women's conference were all greatly blessed of God within this year. Fourteen students have completed 30 weeks of training and graduated from the Ministerial Training Center. These young men are entering into different areas of the harvest fields of Kenya. Many open air evangelism services, home fellowship meetings as well as training sessions have been held in all parts of Kenya. Together we are "Laborers In His Vineyard." Your Missionaries, Bro. & Sis. J. L. Hall.
To our dear friends and partners, May the Lord's richest blessings be yours at this special time of the year! On behalf ourselves and the saints from the church here in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, we wish you a blessed holyday season! This Christmass season reminds us afresh that he alone is worthy of all our adoration and praise. The work here is going ahead. We have had a special services in Sao Bento do Sul church and several received the Holy Ghost. One trinitarian pastor who was attending stood up durring the service and asked to be baptized in Jesus' Name! We are also finishing some of the construction of the central church in Florianoplis/Sao Jose which we were unable to do before we had to return for deputation. Our new works in Joacaba and Brejaru are going ahead. This past month we baptized a doctor's wife from Joacaba who is Austrain. She is so happy and is a wonderful witness! May your Christmass and new year be blessed by Him! May we work together until He comes! Thank you so much for many cards and letters! The Grimm's.
New Work In Thaba Tsoeu, What a thrill to see about 150 people under the tent listening to the word od God. The wind was blowing and dust was fogging into our faces and our clothswere covered with this fine dust but this did not keep the people from hearing the precious word of God. Bro. Carpenter preached to them on water baptism and how important it is. As a result there were 31 baptized in the most precious name of Jesus. These people have donated a piece of ground for a building and have already dug the foundation for it. This happened on Sept. 11th. Second New Work In Sekabatho, We just baptized five people in this new area and bought a plot of ground with a building on it that we can use for a church for many years to come. We serve a God of victory. New Building Going Up In Ramahapi, The tent is put to good use, as a new building is being constructed. We house the material in the tent and also have revival while the building is in progress. We will have a baptismal service here at the time of the building dedication. God is so good to us. Yours for souls, Mack & Bobbie Carpenter.
